On hiatus

Dear folks,

I'll be away from the 20th Novemeber to 11th December. My grandmother has just passed away and I'll be flying back to Taiwan (yes, my family is Taiwanese, though I'm born in Singapore.) for the funeral and stuff.

I can't guarantee that I can upload weekly while I'm away, so I promise when I'm back on the 12th, I'll upload my chapters TWICE a week till the year ends, as compensation :) I wanted to do so anyway, because December is my birthday month (5th). But oh well, are we such immature people that we insist on celebrating while a relative has died?

While overseas, I'll definitely still be writing. My hands are practically itching. But thank goodness in the last week I was not distracted by writing at all. I dared not read any of my chapters and it worked... because i ended up studying and doing my work pretty... efficiently.

Oh, but if you are curious to know, my paper sucked. no amount of studying could get me an A so... *sniff*

yay, chapter 33.

nothing much for this chapter, i suppose :P but the next one will be yummy :)

yeah, once again, some BC scenes. there won't be any crisis core scenes till september 0002 (in the story!) :P

it's a monday (okay now it's tuesday)...

and i'm looking forward to friday because i want to upload a new chapter :D

but then again i'm not looking forward to friday because my assignment AND exams are due that day.

obviously i'm not ready :P

i just spent 2 hours compiling stuff for my project mates. and it's tiring X.x

i much rather spend that time on 'i want to be a turk' but oh well...

just 4 days more.

on a random note, i'm quite heartened to see that there are people who actually read my blog XD honestly when i did this whole blog thing i didn't think that people would really read it (apart from some nice souls XD). but yeah, i'm glad that people gives a hoot about what i think. okay, so MAYBEEE i manipulated it a little by putting most of the authors' notes here but... :P

Oh yes, it did!

the eyelash miraculously came out while i was sleeping, that is :P

i woke up in the morning and the first thing i always do is to check my mail for reviews :P

my readers never fail me, because there are two already in my inbox, smiling at me.

as i am blogging about this, i heard my sister in the next room watching 'Detective Conan'.

ahhh i want my exams to end quickly so that i can watch anime too!!!

okay, that was utterly random. i'm thinking of creating a label so that i can blog about some of my daily, random stuff. i don't wanna look back at this blog in ten years' time and have the misunderstanding that i was a committed, brilliant author who writes awesome stories XDDD well, at least the committed part is true (now.) So what should be the name of my label? 0__0 "daily life", "mundane happenings", "Non-writing stuff"... *sigh*

I Want To Be A Turk!: Chapter 32

has it been a week already? wasn't it just yesterday or something that i posted on... oh, moves like jagger was uploaded on tuesday XD despite my saying that i've stopped writing... obviously i haven't :\ but we're here to talk about the chapter so here we go!

i was quite surprised when i realised that i'm going to upload this chapter. the start of Year 0002, huh? this is the year where everything changes, for everyone actually. for meia, reno and "coincidentally", zack fair (nibelheim, anyone?) the feeling is like 'wow, the story has really gone a long way.' even though the story is NOWHERE near midpoint, it really has come thus far. i hope that i have the tenacity to finish everything that i want to finish.

it's pretty silly to read my authors' notes now. back when i wrote this (in september!!!), i was saying that my chapter is long... and that was 4000 words. now, i removed my remark, since 4000 words has been an average length for a very very long time XD

yes, the Icicle Inn scenes are from Before Crisis. :) it's really hard to fit Meia into scenes, i swear. XD that's why i feel extra proud of myself whenever i can do a canon scene with Meia.

Lifestream. One of the many concepts that i didn't understand till recently (what was i playing ff7 back then for???). it's a highly profound concept, kudos to the story developer. so yeah, the context of my story is the ppl don't know that Mako is refined souls of humans. i can't be bothered to research and watch through all the games to see if this knowledge is common or exclusive so... :P

yes, i know reno is kinda OOC here. fear not, i'll devise a marvellous plan to make everything alright. XD

Oh my gosh, do my eyes deceive me? Does Reno finally realize that he might…!? Gosh, after 32 chapters, if he’s not going to do something about it, even I will give him a virtual punch!

Haha, yeah that’s the part that I thought you guys might like. About time I add in some… mutual (?) feelings there. But the journey is far from over, wahahaha!

okay, i'm pretty much done with my talking and talking.

on a side note (though it's predominantly a writing blog, i DO write about other things as well.. wait till you hear me rant about makeup... oh look, there's a tag there already.), I have to stop wearing coloured contact lenses for a while. (let us not get started on the harmful things about coloured lenses k? XD)

Yeah, i was trying out a new brand and well... i find them a little too soft for my liking. so... the fact that they went a little too dry... my reddened eyes are more than happy to scream 'next!!' So yeap, as i'm typing i'm nursing my dry eyes with eye drops >.<

alright, i shall quickly upload my story (yeah i do this post before i upload) and then sleep, hoping that the lost eyelash in my eye will somehow be lodged out while i sleep XD

Movie Review (3): (just) in time!

if you only had a day left to live, what would you do?

THAT, folks, is what you get. yes, i went for another movie today. i don't think u need a summary or synopsis so i'm gonna just jump in.

Yes, the concept that time is money (literally) is very, very intriguing. I was very entertained for two hours :) just... just two things that made me a LITTLE unsettled.

1. loopholes??

not that there were loopholes but... it feels like there were some things that were left a little TOO vague. i mean, in real steel i suppose it was fine to leave things like 'yeah hugh jackman had some scrape that made him all messed up now' but THIS is simply tooo... off. they didn't explain what did will salas' father did, or why giving people in the ghettoes more time will cause disbalance... well.. i hope i didn't spoil anything there. all in all, i think some things can be explained a little more.

2. lacks depth

ahh. not that the story sucked, but it lacks depth. and it was such a pity too, because i thought that it had some potential to be a little more than what i watched tonight. story development was two-dimensional, there was practically no surprise element, no story climax, bleah. the characters were also kinda meh, though amanda seyfried remains hot in my opinion :P

okay, so comparatively, real steel is the better deal (rhyme intended). and off i go to do my powerpoint slides for my presentation on friday :)

Moves Like Jagger: Chapter 5

This chapter is uploaded as a tribute to one of my first few supporters in my FF7 writing 'career'... The Writing Artist (or TWA). Happy Birthday, TWA :) I hope you managed to read this chapter before your birthday ends!

Okay, so I uploaded a little too quickly this time, the next update will be end Nov to Dec, but that would be the last chapter! Whoopee! I'm half done with that chapter so I can't wait till my exams are over so that I can work on it :D

Honestly, writing a RenoxElena fic wasn't as hard as I thought. I admit I didn't pay too much attention on character development, but it wasn't THAT bad right? I sincerely hope my characters aren't OOC >.<

I admit, I wanted to give you guys a surprise by writing that Cissnei is the saboteur instead, but I decided not to because I MIGHT be starting another story that is based on this universe! It’ll be a little tricky to have such a big character as Cissnei become the baddies =P Not that it's confirmed that Cissnei will be a big character in that new story, but I like to give myself less restrictions so that I won't find myself stuck when planning the new story... just in case.

Yeap, you've heard it. I might start another story, but no guarantee. I have dozens of plot bunnies waiting to birth, so… =) That being said, I'm quite excited about the new story I have in mind, so hopefully everything will work out :)

Story Update Schedule

Hi all, if you're reading this, it's because you want to know what's coming up for the month of November!

Sadly, I (SHOULD, but it's easier said than done) gotta study for my exams (it's on the 18th) and there're tons of assignments in between, so on my side, I'll stop writing. Yes, so stories like "Moves Like Jagger" will be on hold till after my exams. Since "I want to be a Turk" has many prepared chapters done, updates will continue as per normal.

I Want To Be A Turk!: Chapter 31

My favourite chapter is finally uploaded! Rude's story is seriously one of the best chapters in the BC story. It made me ache inside to see him so heart-broken. This is the rendition of what I think happened. Of course, this chapter is inspired by author redcherryamber, who wrote the awesome and heart-wrenching "Unspolit".

Though I'm feeling tired from writing, my heart still feels excited to plan the story development. I'm just afraid now that I'll overplan and then I'll be lazy to write it out.

In fact, I liked this chapter so much, it was done before Chapter 28 and 29 were completed. So it has been sitting in my 'please proofread' folder for a long time :P

Planning is such a pain.

oh gosh. As the title says, planning is such a pain. I spent two hours trying to pace my "I Want to be a Turk!" story properly to have minimal loopholes but it looks like i'm gonna fail :P I've decided to make a time lapse... though it wont be an abrupt one, but it will still be a time lapse XDD writing this story, though i still love it, is becoming really tiring :(
